As I was searching for images, my upcoming travels came to mind when I spotted the selected image, which is the 118 Exit Sign on I70 heading towards the town of Pastaskala. On a deeper level, a road can be like blogging in Ohio, sometimes you have a direct route knowing exactly where you are heading and other times? What starts out designed as a quick "trip" ends up being a much longer and more detailed event, sometimes at the end of the journey you are surprised where you ended up as it was so far from where you started.
Tim Higgings of Just Blowing Smoke starts off with a historical piece on the 233rd anniversary of Patrick Henry's speech with Give me Liberty or Give Me Something with a Pretty Bow. The attention then turns to what has been a hot topic in the Toledo area, Intermodal.
Rowsey Blog has three posts written by Jason Rowsey, the first one focuses on a story that was out of the news for a time and now is back, Alleged Nazi Guard Demjanjuk of Cleveland to be Deported. This next post is a thought provoking look at the Pay Day Loan industry. Should school districts have election day as a holiday is the question asked by Jason in this next contribution.
Women, women everywhere, but not a GOP one to seat, is the first topic explored by Jill Miller Zimon of Write Likes She Talks. A tribute to Wendy Hoke a NEOhio journalist and agitator is shared and according to Jill, Nobody does it better: Bill Callahan documenting foreclosure impact, warrants some blog space.
From Roland Hansen Commentary it's believed by Roland Hansen that University of Toledo President Lloyd Jacobs should be fired. This is in response to a story concerning an employee and her right to state her opinion in a newspaper that gained national attention.
Tom Blumer first provides a summary of some of the recent news that caught his attention that include his thoughts on Jennifer Brunner receiving the Profiles in Courage Award. BizzyBlog then focuses on Welfare Rolls here in Ohio and elsewhere that Tom does not feel is an indicator of the economy as it was reported in the media.
As a part of their Interview Series, Kyle and Ben turn their attention to Senator Coughlin as shared by Ben Keeler from The Point. Then the pair head to Revere High School to visit two history classes. Do you have some "misty water colored Memories of Marc Dann that you'd like to share? Ben's created the post to do so...
ePluribus Media OhioNews Bureau's John Michael Spinelli has a post on CrissCrossing Ohio which is a great new feature. It's a fun way to test your knowledge of Ohio politics and government. Brush up on Ohio's legislature, state agencies, politics, politicians and much more with this crossword puzzle each month.
The Ohio Republic first sends in It ain't so, and Ted means it when it comes to his not having any vice presidential aspirations. Then the attention turns to federal spending and that perhaps independence should be considered now in Ohio before the federal government goes bankrupt.
From Progress Ohio Ohio Election Justice Campaign submits a post on a Press Conference and additional information on a request to expand The Dann Investigation to include the State Auditor's office. Next two from "Average Jane", first asking the question Sorority House behavior: Do you condone it? and then what do you think of Ohio's new slogan, "Ohio: The State of Perfect Balance."
Racism of another Color is the topic of this post shared by Conservative Culture. It's a look at another form of racism that is exhibited towards those who in many cases are American citizens and have been here for decades.
The Squeaky Wheel from Bearing Drift Ohio notes that in watching the news the other night what the media focused on, or more importantly did not focus on. Perhaps they were too concerned with American Idol.
Over on Glass City Jungle the suspected racism aspect of a 6th grade boy being threatened with death doesn't get media coverage, which concerns me. Then, Northern Ohio gets a semi-win on the turnpike issue, I wonder if most people remember that originally the turnpike was not suppose to remain a toll road.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us in our "travel adventure" through the Ohio blogosphere.

As always, a great job.
By the way, if the Ohio Board of Regents do not remove Dr. Lloyd Jacobs as President of the University of Toledo, then the Governor of Ohio, Ted Strickland, should replace the Regents!!!
Niiiice contributions! Thank you and have a SAFE trip. :)
Roland, I guess we'll have to see what kind of a push continues on that front.
